Biography
Lauren Dawson is an environmental visual artist from Northern Ireland.
Lauren Dawson graduated with a BA Hons in Fine and Applied Art from the University of Ulster Belfast in 2008, specialising in Printmaking and Photography.
Lauren also graduated with a Masters in Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies in 2010 also from UUB.
Lauren held her first solo exhibition, Permian, at Haptik Gallery, Newtownards, in August and September 2018.
Lauren has exhibited in a number of group exhibitions, most recently at the For Earth’s Sake exhibition at In-Spire Gallery, Dublin, 2019, organised by Friends of the Earth. Lauren received sponsorship from SSE Airtricity for this exhibition. Following the exhibition, Lauren was invited by Patagonia Dublin to exhibit in their shop window in September 2019 as part of the Global Climate Strike and Dublin Culture Night.
Lauren has also exhibited at ForM Sculpture Exhibition in Bangor Castle Walled Garden (Ards and North Down Borough Council) in June 2019 and June 2017. Lauren was again selected to exhibit at ForM in June 2020, however unfortunately the exhibition had to be postponed to June 2021 due to Covid-19.
Previously Lauren has exhibited at the Black Canvas Gallery, Belfast Print Workshop, Larne Museum and Arts Centre, and was an invited graduate artist at the Royal Ulster Academy Exhibition in the Titanic Drawing Offices in 2008.
She has been employed full-time within the arts sector for the past 8 years, and is currently working on a body of work entitled Permian
